Designer and front-end developer
Mikaela Lindfors M.Sc
Coming from a background in biology and medicine, and I never envisioned my career as a developer. However, I ended up studying computer science and human-computer interaction (HCI) at the Tampere University, and still on that path. I've been working various roles from UX-designer to fullstack developer with web and mobile applications and also with project management responsibilities.. It's important to me that digital solutions are user-friendly and accessible.
Before the Fame, I worked with React Native applications, and since then I've mostly done frontend with React, Next.JS, and Eleventy. I also have experience with backend-coding with php and JavaScript. Currently one of my responsibilities is working with visuals, UX-design and frontend at Fame. I really enjoy changing a Figma prototype into a working application. I value creativity and I'm happy that I can use it in my work.
I love working at Fame because of the team. These guys are awesome.
Fullstack developer
Toni Haapanen PhD
I wrote my first line of code when I was just a kid. But before becoming a developer in 2018, I worked as a researcher at a university and as a Program Coordinator at a nonprofit, supporting environmental and societal initiatives in the Global South.
Today, I'm a PHP and Drupal developer with experience in both back-end and front-end development and JavaScript as well. I also handle many customer-facing responsibilities, such as communicating with clients and managing projects.
I'm interested in green coding. Computers and the internet take up a lot of energy and resources. Green coding seeks to minimise the energy intensity involved in processing lines of code.
At Fame, I really value the supportive atmosphere. Kalle is a fair boss, and we're always there for each other, even when we're not working on the same projects.
Senior fullstack developer
Santeri Hurnanen
I taught myself to code, which is how I landed my first tech job, taking care of website and systems support at an animal rights nonprofit. I've also studied computer science, electronics, and electrical engineering at university.
With eight years of experience under my belt, I mainly focus on Drupal but have a strong understanding of multiple programming languages. Architectural expertise is definitely one of my strengths: I design and implement large-scale projects and work on a wide range of projects, from websites to fundraising systems and complex integrations.
I love using my tech skills to make a positive impact. Coding might not be the most visible form of activism, but, for example, maintaining systems like donation software is essential for the success of NGOs.
Colleagues are the best part of Fame. I also enjoy the variety: working with nonprofits as well as consulting on challenging software projects.
