Addis Ababa, July 6, 2021 (FBC) – The most beloved Ethiopia’s Humanitarian, Abebech Gobena has laid to rest in Saint Trinity Cathedral with state funeral ceremony attended by high ranking government officials and thousands of mourners from across the country.
Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, Abune Matias, President of Oromia Regional State Shemelis Abdissa, Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, among other public figures have attended the funeral service held in the cathedral.
Abebech Gobena also known as the African Mother Teresa have raised more than 20,000 orphaned and abandoned children and helped many people in need for more than forty years.
The beloved philanthropist, Abebech Gobana recived honorary doctorate degree from Jimma University for her outstanding humanitarian engagement in the country.
Abebech was receiving intensive treatment at Saint Paul Hospital due to COVID 19 Complications before she passed away at age of 85 on Sunday 4, 2021.
