LucasFilm has been cagey about which actors will return for Star Wars: Andor Season 2, but it seems that Ben Mendelsohn will be among that group. According to one report, the actor will come back in the later episodes of the season to reprise his role of Imperial Director (and Death Star architect) Orson Krennic.
The Playlist reported earlier this week that Mexican filmmaker Alonso Ruizpalacios told them in an interview that he enjoyed directing Mendelsohn, along with other noted Andor actors like Stellan Skarsgård and Forest Whitaker. Ruizpalacios may have been unaware that Mendelsohn's return was up in the air, especially since the actor said back in February that he had "not been approached" for the second season.
Often described as the Star Wars show for "grown-ups," Andor Season 2 will focus on how the titular character became an indispensable agent to the Rebellion, leading up to the events of the movie Rogue One. Skarsgård indicated in an interview that the season will likely release in late 2024 or early 2025. In addition to Diego Luna as the title character, Andor stars Syril Karn, Skarsgård, Genevieve O'Reilly, Denis Gough, and Adria Arjona.
