It's hard to say goodbye, but Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock and his alien companion's dance card is almost full and ready to head out. Venom: The Last Dance is the final installment of the Venom movie series that became an unlikely hit, with the first film earning over $860 million at the global box office. The sequel, Let There Be Carnage, had a significant drop but still enough to get us to the end of the story.
The trailer has Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor as undisclosed characters, but we see they are military personnel out to stop an alien invasion and study the symbiote. More creatures from the same planet as the symbiote have started to appear on Earth, making Venom a fugitive from both the aliens and the government. Also, that Venom horse is the stuff of legend and nightmares. Check it out below.
Venom screenwriter Kelly Marcel makes her directorial debut with the film. Marcel has been involved with all three Venom films, with Hardy collaborating on the script again. Filming began at the end of June last year but was halted the next month due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike and resumed that November after the strike ended.
The film will be the fifth in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, including the previous installments, the much-maligned Morbius, and Madame Web.
Venom: The Last Dance hits theaters October 25, 2024.
