A group of words that makes complete sense is called a sentence. It begins with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. A sentence may be a statement, question, exclamation, or command. A sentence may be simple, compound, or complex.

There are four different types of sentences in English Grammar and they are as follows:

1. **Declarative or assertive sentence

The sentence that gives information and ends with aperiod or a full stop(.)is called a declarative or assertive sentence.
