Office of the Archbishop

The Office of the Archbishop responds efficiently and properly to the rigorous demands associated with the overall duties of the Archbishop. Tasks include: scheduling of His Eminence's pastoral visitations, official and unofficial meetings with Clergy and Laity, public and official appearances, audiences, conferences and travels. In addition, this Office processes all forms of communication addressed to the Archbishop.

The Office of the Chancellor is primarily responsible for matters related to the clergy of the Holy Archdiocese of America. These tasks include, in addition to other matters, assuring their overall well-being, first assignments and reassignments between metropolises, continuing education and any benefits provided to them by the Church.

Archdiocesan Council

The Archdiocesan Council is the advisory and consultative body to the Archbishop. It interprets and implements the decision of the Clergy-Laity Congress and the Regulations of the Archdiocese, administers the temporal and financial affairs of the Archdiocese, and possesses interim legislative authority between Clergy-Laity Congresses.

The primary work and ministry of the Department of Communications is to facilitate proper and coordinated communication throughout the Church in America and to communicate the scope of the ministry and activity of Archdiocese in the larger contexts of America and the world. The Department has the task of assisting the Hierarchs, Clergy, Parishes, Departments, Organizations, Institutions, and Programs in receiving and communicating information in timely and effective ways, as this is critical both to the growth and support of every area of the life of the Church.

The Clergy Family Initiative

In 2016, the Clergy Family Initiative, a Ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, received a three-year, $1,000,000 grant from the Lilly Endowment, the National Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders, to create research-based programing to raise awareness in our Archdiocese regarding the unique challenges our Clergy and their families face and also provide need-based financial grants to our Clergy.
