Although I found the central metaphor to be an interesting one, and despite its short length, I still found parts of Sputnik Sweetheart to be pointless and some of Numire's ramblings to be nonsensically "fake deep". Then again... does everything have to have a point? I wouldn't say so. I'd love to discuss the ending with some people and will definitely have to reread that final chapter before making up my mind definitively. I liked this one a lot: the jealous between the bride and the mistress the artist found in his work. I must stay, though, both Chambers and Wilde took this and made it their own in a manner that captivated me much more. That being said, really good short story. I'm glad I read it.
