Lord Jim

Jesse's review
Read 2 times. Last read April 11, 2022 to April 16, 2022.
Review of the first 100 pages. As far as I could make it.
It wasn't good. It wasn't bad. It was meh.
This is my second attempt at Lord Jim (I made it 100 pages this time), and once again, I've failed to grasp what people see in it. It's boring. It's stupid. It's slow. It reads like a textbook.
I wanted to like it. I was excited to read it. Classics are classic for a reason, and I was sure I'd love it, but it was meh. It was like looking through a photo album of someone you don't know, or talking to an occasional work aquitence. You're not really interested in it, but it's there, so you look at it, or you make small talk. It's meh.
