The Murders in the Rue Morgue: The Dupin Tales (C. Auguste Dupin, #1-3)
by
Credit where credit is due: Edgar Allan Poe invented detective fiction, and it's crazy to think he actually started a whole new, insanely popular genre. Agatha Christie clearly was beyond inspired. That being said, the genre has progressed and evolved a lot since then, and I will admit, these Dupin tales just don't hold up quite as well anymore, though they are still enjoyable and charming.
