Biblical Studies Degree
As a biblical studies major at Grace College, you’ll explore the inexhaustible riches of God’s Word, learning to approach it humbly, study it diligently, interpret it wisely, and apply it obediently. By the time you graduate, you’ll be prepared to teach and preach the Bible with both accuracy and passion.
Institutionally, all of our program curricula is founded on the truth that the Bible is inerrant — and nowhere is that conviction more crucial than in studying the Word itself! Know that you’ll learn from professors who take a high view of Scripture, deeming it sufficient in all matters.
Not only that, but 100% of full-time faculty in the School of Ministry Studies have served in ministry and published biblical scholarship, from penning essays to authoring entire commentaries. Prepare to learn from men and women who have both the practical experience and extensive research to teach well.
For the biblical studies degree, you will take survey classes on the Old Testament and New Testament, and you’ll explore biblical application and history in courses such as Defining Doctrines and Spiritual Formation. You’ll also complete specialized classes in ministry such as biblical exposition, preaching, and teaching.
Your courses will culminate in a senior seminar, in which you will research, prepare, and present scholarship about a major-related topic of your choice.
Along the way, expect close, supportive mentorship from your professors, who are interested in your spiritual development and your academic success. Our students especially enjoy faculty mentorship groups, in which they experience fellowship, encouragement, and prayer with both seminary and undergraduate students.
As a biblical studies major, you’ll intern at places such as a local church, a missions organization, or a local homelessness and addiction recovery center. Once you graduate with your bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, you’ll be equipped to work in any position that requires not just a solid teacher and preacher of the Word, but someone who walks closely with Christ with integrity and humility. Biblical studies degree graduates have gone on to work in positions such as pastors, missionaries, and nonprofit leaders.
