HackTheBox also helps you learn step by step with an easy to use UI. Pwnbox helps you learn hacking tools and using the terminal, very helpful for learning how to pwn machines. There is so much more I could say about why HackTheBox is a good idea for learning how to hack even if you don't know anything about it. Love it!

From IT Specialist to Cybersecurity Professional

For 15+ years I worked in IT, my job focused on troubleshooting. My interest was in Penetration Testing, so I played games (Threatgen: Red vs. Blue, Grey Hack, Nite Team 4 and World of Haiku) to scratch the itch. A Steam forum user had mentioned HackTheBox. First I dabbled with the Academy and then I tried the Lab, I was hooked. I signed up for a VIP+ account and trained every single day. I had the benefit of a mentor during my years learning to be a software developer. Hack The Box is my mentor for cybersecurity. I'm exposed to core vulnerabilities and exploits I can use, to cement them into memory. But I'm also learning alongside many others, some offering guidance others encouragement. The whole process is sugar coated so the long hours go down sweetly. I love the platform and look forward to becoming a better member to the community.
