The Pennsylvania Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides income-eligible seniors with the opportunity to purchase locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from approved farmers in Pennsylvania. The program provides five 5voucherstotaling5 vouchers totaling 5voucherstotaling25 to eligible seniors one time during the program year. The vouchers may be redeemed at designated area farmers markets through Nov. 30. To be eligible for the SFMNP vouchers, an individual must be 60 or older by Dec. 31 and must be a resident of Fayette, Greene, or Washington counties. A Brownsville man faces charges after being accused of fracturing a man’s leg during a dispute in April. According to the criminal complaint, Joseph Stokes, 59, accosted James Wellington as he was walking through a parking lot on Hopewell Road in Luzerne Township on the night of April 23. Wellington told a Pennsylvania State Police trooper Stokes accused him of making a rude gesture to Stokes’ wife before punching him multiple times in the face and chest.
