Positive development continues; HKFoods showing clear growth in net sales and comparable EBIT

Both the company’s net sales and comparable EBIT showed a clear improvement. HKFoods’ net sales from continuing operations increased by 8.8 per cent to EUR 251.6 (231.2) million. HKFoods increased its profitability through successful commercial measures, production efficiencies and cost savings. The investment in the Rauma poultry cutting department has exceeded the targets set for improving production efficiency. In September, we decided on a significant strategic investment of around EUR 5 million in the ready meal production of our Vantaa unit. Our major restructuring was completed at the end of October, when the sale of our Danish business unit was completed.

The transaction of HKFoods’ Danish business closed

HKFoods and Plukon Food Group B.V. have today closed the transaction announced on 2 May 2024, whereby HKFoods sells its Danish business to Plukon Food Group B.V. from the Netherlands. The transaction concerned the shares in ROSE Poultry A/S, the subsidiary that formed HKFoods' Business Unit Denmark.

The investment supports HKFoods’ strategy to increase added value and operational efficiency. The company aims to grow in product categories that make everyday life easier for consumers, such as meals, meal components and snacks.

The company’s new name is HKFoods Plc

The change decided by the Annual General Meeting of HKScan Corporation on 18 April 2024 has been registered in the Trade Register today, 24 May 2024. The company name has changed to HKFoods Oyj in Finnish, HKFoods Plc in English and HKFoods Abp in Swedish.

The transaction of HKScan’s Swedish business closed

HKScan and Lantmännen ek för have today closed the transaction announced on 29 December 2023, whereby HKScan sells its Swedish business to the Swedish Lantmännen. The transaction concerned the shares in HKScan Sweden AB, the subsidiary that formed HKScan's Business Unit Sweden.

The transaction terminates HKScan's ownership of the Swedish business. The business operations and personnel of HKScan’s Swedish subsidiaries have been transferred to the new owner at the closing of the transaction. HKScan has operated in Sweden since 2007.

Appointment in HKScan Group Executive Team

Mika Tilli, BSc in Economics and Business Administration, has been appointed CFO of HKScan and member of the Group Executive Team as of 1 July 2024. He will report to CEO Juha Ruohola. HKScan's current CFO Jyrki Paappa will join another employer at the beginning of September 2024.

Mika Tilli has worked as HKScan's VP Business Controlling Finland since 2018 and he will continue in this role. Prior to this, he held similar position at Sinebrychoff.

SBTi approval for HKScan’s near-term and land based climate targets

HKScan has updated the climate emissions calculation, climate target and timeline of its responsibility programme to better align with international climate work guidelines, calculation guidelines and reporting standards. HKScan’s revised climate target is to achieve net zero for all greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
