Halle Berry Exits Ryan Murphy’s Hulu Legal Drama (original) (raw)

Halle Berry is leaving the practice.

The Oscar winner is no longer starring in or executive producing Ryan Murphy‘s upcoming Hulu legal drama All’s Fair due to a scheduling conflict with another project, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Berry was joining the A-list cast and executive producing team also made up of Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close, who are producing alongside Murphy and 20th Television.

Hulu and 20th Television declined to comment on Berry’s exit from the series.

All’s Fair is described as a glossy and sexy procedural in which Kardashian — who worked with Murphy on the most recent season of American Horror Story: Delicate — plays a top divorce attorney at an all-woman L.A. law firm.

The legal drama is Murphy’s first series for Hulu and part of his Disney overall deal and is the second Hulu series for Kardashian alongside her reality hit The Kardashians. Kardashian, meanwhile, has said she is studying for the bar exam in real life and looking to get her law degree.

Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans) and Joe Baken (ABC’s upcoming, Murphy-produced Dr. Odyssey) created the series, which is written by Jamie Pachino, Laura Greene and Richard Levine. Kris Jenner, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson and Holly Jeter also executive produce.

All’s Fair would have been Berry’s first TV role since CBS’ Extant in 2015. She will next be seen in Netflix film The Union co-starring Mark Wahlberg and in the horror-thriller Never Let Go, a psychological survival movie that required she learn how to actually skin a squirrel.

The show is expected to film for nearly 100 days in California and is Murphy’s third series this year to participate in California’s tax credit program.
