Ghost Vibration? - IGN (original) (raw)
As rumored some time prior to E3, and now confirmed by Impress Game Watch, from which this report descends, Japanese developer Artoon has a PlayStation 2 project in the works for unlikely publisher Eidos Interactive, entitled Ghost Vibration. Due for release in Japan in July (and perhaps planned for localization under the Fresh Games imprint), it features a ghost hunter named George clearing a haunted mansion of spectral manifestations, using only his trusty spear gun. Hey, we just write what they tell us...
Ghost Vibration appears to use both first- and third-person viewpoints to present its 3D world. It looks a little like Fatal Frame that way -- George's exploration is presented with a scene-focused camera, which changes perspective according to the area he's in, and activating his weaponry switches to a first-person view for easier aiming. Despite the somewhat cartoonish art direction, Artoon promises plenty of dramatic tension, and nine stages of mysteries to explore and solve.
Look forward to further news on Ghost Vibration if Eidos does plan to release it in the United States.
