Trivia
Stephen Slesinger was the owner of a New York City publishing house; in 1930, he obtained the U.S. and Canadian licensing rights to the Winnie the Pooh characters created by A.A. Milne. After Slesinger's death, his widow (died 19 July 2007) took over the company, further developing the characters and creating new projects. She worked out licensing agreements with Walt Disney Company, but sued the company in 1991 over alleged miscounted royalties. The case is currently (2007) going through the California state courts. Shirley Slesinger's second husband was cartoonist Fred Lasswell Jr..Trademark
