Alive at 40 is a stand-up special by Anuvab Pal, talking about what it is like to be in a 40 year old entertainer in 'New India', where people are pretending to be hip and failing disgracefully.

The New York Times calls Anuvab Pal India's Most Intelligent Comedian. The Guardian calls him 'very brilliant, very funny'. His stand up comedy special The Nation Wants To Know, has had over 1000 shows starting in Mumbai and playing from Sydney to San Francisco to Singapore to sold out houses across 30 cities. He's also the only Indian comedian invited to perform at Harvard University and for the Prime Ministers of India and Great Britain. In India, as a screenwriter, he's written several cult classic comedies including Loins Of Punjab Presents and The President Is Coming. His stage play Chaos Theory, a finalist for the BBC World Service Radio Playwriting Award, is performed extensively in the US and recently got a Broadway staged reading with the Roundabout Theatre Company. His Bollywood screenplay work includes Baar Baar Dekho and Bhoot Police.

Since 2016, Anuvab has been performing regularly in the UK. His BBC stand up show titled The Empire has been seen by 6 million people worldwide as part of the BBC World Service New Year's Eve Comedy Special and the script is featured and on display as a permanent exhibit at The V&A Museum in London, and available to watch as a special Amazon Prime UK. He has also written a sitcom starring British comedy legend Stephen Fry for BBC Radio 2, been a panelist on QI and News Quiz, and recently did a travel show with comedian Al Murray for Sky History.

He does a long-running Indian comedy podcast titled Our Last Week with Bollywood actor Kunaal Roy Kapoor. He's also a regular contributor to The Bugle Podcast by Andy Zaltzman. He divides his time between Mumbai and London.
