correct
A correct portrait of Saint Mary, Mother of God. Sure, sentimental, too sweet , proposing an artificial, at first sigh, atmosphere, expression of high pietism. But its target is precise and it reflects the style of Mexican religious films, with so familiar recipes and solutions. And, more important, Luana de Alcaniz offers a profound beautiful performance as Saint Mary, delicate and precise , clear and honest. It is a film from Latino America of 1948. It is not fair to ignore the period and the location for judge it.And it is one of occasion for Luis Alcoriza to propose his so familiar in technique and details portrait of the Savior. So, a beautiful Christian film. And a correct , delicate portrait of the Queen of the queeens.
