AIIS operates two world-renowned research centers—the Center for Art and Archeology (CAA) and the Archives and Research Centers for Ethnomusicology (ARCE).
Teacher Training Workshop Held at CAA in June 2017
The Center for Art & Archaeology maintains, and makes widely accessible, a vast visual collection documenting the arts and architecture of the Indian subcontinent. Among the principal research resources at the CA&A is an outstanding open-stack reference library.
The Archives and Research Center for Ethnomusicology (ARCE) houses some 25,000 hours of sound recordings which have been deposited by scholars and musicians from all over the world, as well as a top-quality reference library. The resources of the Institute’s centers are available to AIIS fellows and all scholars.
Both centers are devoted to preserving the cultural heritage of India. Each hosts conferences and workshops for scholars, artists and professionals.
