Hrithik Roshan learns Bihari accent for Super 30 with Lollipop Lagelu. Watch new video (original) (raw)

Hrithik Roshan revealed the process of his transformation for Super 30 in a new behind-the-scenes video.

Hrithik Roshan underwent a complete transformation to play math wizard Anand Kumar in Vikas Bahl's Super 30. In a behind-the-scenes video shared on the actor's Instagram account, he explained how he prepared for the role.

To get the Bihari accent right, Hrithik rigorously practised every day for at least two hours. In one of his exercises, he is heard singing the popular Bhojpuri song Lollipop Lagelu.

"I'm in love with the Bihari accent because it has got such a beautiful blend of the vulnerable and the strong. It has been a long journey. I practised Bihari every day for about 2-3 hours. Another thing we used to open up was gibberish. It helped my vocal chords, my cheek muscles, my tongue muscles and all the muscles required for talking," he is heard saying in the video.

Hrithik also revealed that he had to change his muscular appearance. "The very first sacrifice that I had to make was to allow myself to look unfit and out of shape," he said.

Super 30 tells the story of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar, who founded an educational programme where 30 meritorious but underprivileged students are chosen and trained to get into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

Recently, Super 30 was declared tax-free by the Bihar government and Hrithik thanked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi for the gesture. The Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, has also praised the film.
