Veteran Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar is set to star alongside director-actor Abishan Jeevinth, who garnered attention with Tourist Family, in a new Tamil film. The yet-to-be-titled film marks the maiden venture of newly launched production banner Drama Company and will also introduce Gautham Sivaraman as a director in Tamil cinema.

The project was officially launched with a traditional puja ceremony in Chennai on June 1. The makers confirmed that shooting is currently under way in the city, with the title and additional details expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

A video announcing the collaboration was recently shared by Abishan Jeevinth on X. In the video, Abishan announces that his next film is with Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, with the clip later suggesting that he plays the hero in the film. While Shiva Rajkumar’s role remains under wraps, the collaboration has generated significant interest among fans.

Drama Company, headed by producer Balamurugan A, unveiled the film as its first production and described it as an entertainer backed by ambitious plans. The film is expected to blend commercial entertainment with a fresh creative vision under debutant director Gautham Sivaraman. Alongside Shiva Rajkumar and Abishan Jeevinth, the film stars Shivani Nagaram as the female lead. The cast also includes Yogalakshmi, Gaana Vinoth, Sangeetha Madhavan and Benjamin in pivotal roles.

Several prominent personalities from the Tamil film industry attended the launch ceremony and extended their wishes to the team. Among those present were Soundarya Rajinikanth, Kalaipuli S Thanu, C Premkumar, Manikandan, Ken Karunaas, RT Raja, Avudaiyappan, Rishikanth, Prabhu Ram Vyas, Madhan and Karuppaiah C Ram.

The technical crew features Leon James as music composer, Pragatheesh Prabhu as cinematographer, Suresh as editor and Swathi Ramakrishnan as costume designer. Sharing photographs from the launch on social media, the production house wrote, "A new dream begins. A new journey unfolds," while announcing that its maiden venture had commenced with an auspicious puja ceremony.

On the work front, Shiva Rajkumar is currently busy promoting his upcoming Telugu film Peddi, which stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead. During a recent interview with India Today, the 45 actor spoke candidly about his collaboration with Ram Charan and his upcoming projects.
