WHERE There's Wool There's A Way As Port Glasgow Joins The Christmas Crochet Post Box Fun - Inverclyde Now (original) (raw)

AS Greenock West End, Gourock and Inverkip residents enjoyed the sight of more and more pillar boxes festooned with crocheted festive coverings, it was only a matter of time before the craze spread east.

A wintry wool decoration has appeared on a post box in Port Glasgow, in the lane between Shore Street and Huntly Terrace, beside St John’s Church.

At least half a dozen of the crafted creations are now bringing some Christmas cheer to local towns and villages, with whoever is coming up with them so far remaining modestly anonymous.

Others are in Inverkip, Gourock and Johnston Street in Greenock West End and two more in Greenock West End — one at Finnart Street at Forsyth Street and the other on South Street at Campbell Street.
