Felix Wellschmied received his M.Sc from the University of Maastricht in 2008. He conducted his PhD at the University of Bonn under the supervision of Prof. Monika Gehrig-Merz. Since fall 2014, he works at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid as Assistant Professor. His research interests are in the field of labor economics, more specifically in structural modeling of employment choices.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in October 2011 and became a Research Fellow in December 2023.
