One dies in officer-involved shooting in Crockett Co. (original) (raw)
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place in Crockett County Sunday morning.
Ronald Branch, 28, was shot and later died in an area hospital.
Crockett County deputies and a Maury City police officer were executing a search warrant at a home on the 2000 block of Colvett Road in Alamo when Branch, who is not a resident of the home, entered the resident brandishing a weapon, according to the TBI.
There was an exchange of gunfire during which officers fired their weapons, striking Branch.
The officers were uninjured.
The shooting occurred at approximately 3:30 Sunday morning.
TBI special agents and a team of forensic scientists are working to gather evidence regarding the shooting.
