Pitt-Johnstown sports and recreational clubs offer the opportunity of athletic competition, non-varsity club and intramural sport activities to both men and women. Regular practices, competitions, travel, service projects, and social outings are all generally included in the activity schedule of a club sport or intramural team.

Cheerleading

The cheerleaders support athletic teams and promote school spirit. The Pitt-Johnstown cheerleaders cheer at men's basketball and wrestling home games.

The cheerleaders compete nationally against other collegiate cheerleading squads at The National Association Competition (NCA) in Daytona Beach, FL. The squad placed fourth in the nation in its division.

Members must maintain a minimum 2.0 QPA and be a full-time student. Any academic major is accepted.

Meetings and practices are held at the Pitt-Johnstown Sports Center and Turners All Stars Cheerleading Gym.

Tryouts will be held in early Summer for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

Chess Club

Provide chess-playing opportunities for students, faculty,and staff, while learning and understanding the game of chess.

E-Sports Club

The club's role is to provide a welcome environment for the growing community of E-Sports enthusiasts. The club aims to provide programs that allow the community to spectate, learn, and to participate in a friendly, competitive environment.

Ice Hockey Club (IceCats)

The Pitt-Johnstown IceCats hockey team is a competitive member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the College Hockey East (CHE). The organization promotes teamwork and develops leadership skills.

The team won the CHE Championship in 2003, 2005 and 2014; and also qualified for the ACHA National tournament 2005, 2006, and 2014. The season begins in early September, with tryouts beginning the week after Labor Day, and finishes with the National Tournament held in March.

The IceCats hold three on-ice practices and one off-ice conditioning practice per week throughout the 30-game regular season. Home games and practices are held at the Cambria County War Memorial. Students must maintain a minimum QPA of 2.0 and be enrolled full-time to be on the active roster.

Martial Arts Club

This club instructs students in the art of Tang Soo Do, the practice of Korean karate. In addition to teaching the physical aspects of the art, the club helps students build self-confidence and inner strength.

Rugby Football Club

Established in 1979, UPJ Rugby are men's and women's collegiate rugby teams that competes in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO), in the Three Rivers Rugby Conference. Additionally, the team competes in 7s Rugby tournaments in the spring

UPJ Rugby is open to any students looking for a top-level athletic experience. If you are willing to commit time and effort to the club, you will have the opportunity to potentially play in national-level playoffs and make unforgettable memories in the brotherhood our team shares.

Swim Club

A co-ed organization for those with an interest in swimming. No previous swim team experience necessary.

Flood Ultimate Frisbee Club

The Flood Ultimate Frisbee club promotes and educates interested students about the sport of Ultimate Frisbee. Additional aims of the club include: Interacting with other college Ultimate Frisbee Clubs Participating in University activities Sponsoring social functions for students Stimulating physical fitness through athletic activity Stressing sportsmanship through the spirit of the game.
