Fletcher School Supports Local Breast Cancer Care, Honoring Teachers

Fletcher Elementary staff and students raised $550 to help support the Shades of Pink Fund at the WCA Foundation, created by retired teacher Anne Sischo and in honor of second grade teacher Teresa Isabella.

New Technology At JPS

Visitors to classrooms across Jamestown Public Schools will notice the addition of some new technology. New 86-inch interactive boards produced by LG have been installed in every classroom where there was previously a project across the district. They allow teachers and students to integrate and interact with multimedia content, write directly on the screen, and use intuitive tools during a lesson.

Chef Darian Helps Kick Off Fall Season

Chef Darian Bryan, a Buffalo-based restauranteur, helped kick off the 2024 school year and fall sports season for over 200 Jamestown Public Schools student athletes, musicians, council, and Honor Society members with an Aug. 21 presentation at Jefferson Middle School on “Flavor & Finance” made possible by the New York State Education Department’s My Brother’s Keeper Challenge grant.

Students Penny Wars

The annual “Penny Wars” fundraiser — a month-long fundraising competition organized by JHS Student Organization — will help establish the new RISE (Red and Green in Support of Everyone) Fund. The fund aims to provide assistance to JHS students who may have experienced various hardships throughout the school year.
