Synopsis
1978 spoof of 1940s hard-boiled film noirs
It’s 1940 in San Francisco and wisecracking amateur private investigator Lou Pekinpaugh gets himself into trouble when his detective partner turns up dead, and it looks like Lou’s mistress, who also happens to be his partner’s wife, might have something to do with it. On top of that, there’s a case of stolen diamonds and a love interest on the run from the Gestapo. All the clichés are here: Lou is surrounded by dames, stiffs, crooks, and cheap joints.
