In her Nov. 17 lip-syncing article, Susan King says Jean Hagen sang the ballad “Would You” for Debbie Reynolds in “Singin’ in the Rain.” Actually, my late mother, Betty Noyes Hand, was the singer.
Mom was a studio musician for nearly 30 years, singing in movies such as “The Wizard of Oz,” “White Christmas” and “The Sound of Music” and on TV. Along with her work in “Singin’,” she was most proud of being Dumbo’s Mother in the animated feature.
