Holmes named in Welsh Autumn squad (original) (raw)

Leicester Tigers fullback Jonah Holmes has been included in the Wales squad for their upcoming Autumn internationals against Scotland, Australia, Tonga and South Africa.

Holmes is one of two uncapped members of the 31-man outfit alongside Ospreys wing and Wales Sevens' all-time leading points and try scorer Luke Morgan.

Wales kick-off their Autumn internationals against Scotland on November 3, before hosting the Wallabies on November 10, Tonga on November 17 and finish the Under Armour Series with a showdown against the Springboks on November 24.

Speaking to LeicesterTigers.com following the announcement, Tigers head coach Geordan Murphy says Holmes' inclusion is a reward for a string of impressive outings this season.

"He's taken his opportunity since coming in to the side and been very impressive at the back for us," said Murphy.

"We have always known how much of an attacking weapon he is and it's a just a reward for his performances so far this season."
