The role of a sales engineer is unique in that it requires a deep understanding of HVAC and energy systems as well as the ability to communicate this knowledge effectively to clients, aligning solutions with their operational and financial goals. Here are some practical steps to thrive in this role.

So, no, you won't get to discuss the nitty gritty details with your counterparts. But they will expect you to be more solution-oriented than just presenting a slide deck. And never fail the humility test. If a more junior member of the client's team asks a question, it is a good thing if you can answer. Even if your local expert needs to complement the answer.
