Abundant and dependable clean energy to power humanity for generations.
About us
Our mission is to make nuclear cheap enough to power the majority of the world's clean energy needs, while maintaining safety. We've identified a path to achieve 3¢ / kWh electricity, enabling rapid real-world deployment.

This week we hosted the grand opening of our Austin Reactor Factory HQ! 100 folks from industry, press, government, venture capital, and the team’s family and friends came through. Today, we’re setting up the pilot line, but this factory could one day output a hundred Aalo-1 reactors per year. With each reactor having a 10 MWe capacity, this would then be a “Gigawatt Factory” (1,000 MWe per year). Texas is the ideal place to be driving towards this goal: Pro nuclear government: Texas politicians have been pushing hard for nuclear deployments and supply chain support in the state. We get the feeling that this is just the begining. History of innovation in energy: Texas has played a big role in energy innovation, from innovation around fracking for natural gas, to the deployment of some of the country’s largest solar and wind installations. It’s clear that the state is positioned to be the leader in Nuclear too. High talent density: Ranging from the traditional oil and gas and heavy machinery industry, to newer companies like SpaceX and Tesla, there’s a ton of talent in the area which has already been reaching out to join our mission. A uniquely well suited grid: ERCOT is independent from other states, independent from FERC, and is rapidly growing. All of these factors make it a uniquely well suited place to deploy many Aalo-1 reactors. Thanks again to everyone who came out, your support means a lot to us. Stay tuned for our next event which will be an unveiling of our non-nuclear prototype early next year! And thanks to Matthew Knipfer for putting on an incredible event. Aalo Atomics has signed an MOU with Idaho Falls Power, the local utility in Idaho Falls! This MOU is a first step towards a PPA, for a fleet of seven Aalo-1 reactors to provide 75 MW of clean, baseload power for the region. This is especially meaningful, because nuclear energy got its start in this region, with Idaho National Laboratory and the original set of experimental reactors that were built there 70 years ago. We’re on the verge of a Second Atomic Age globally, and it’s fitting that one of the first new deployments of non-water based nuclear technology could happen right where it all began.Bear Prairie, GM of IFP, said: “Aalo’s innovative approach to advanced nuclear with no emissions appears to have the right risk and economics for our utility to take this next step.”Rebecca Noah Casper, Mayor of Idaho Falls, said: “A partnership with Aalo whereby we provide space for modeling and development at our Energy Research Park while [Aalo] develops and proves its technology at INL just makes sense.” More at our blog post here: https://lnkd.in/gRiHXsbJOr watch the City Council meeting below! We need a nuclear resurgence - can small modular reactors lead the way? The revival of the Palisades nuclear plant in Michigan is a clear signal that our government is (correctly) reevaluating nuclear energy’s role in the path to a clean energy future. With nearly $2 billion in support from federal and state governments, this restart is signaling newfound recognition...how can we meet our climate goals without nuclear power? As we push toward carbon neutrality, the demand for consistent, reliable, and low-carbon energy is going to continue to skyrocket - AI server farms and data centers will consume a growing % of US electricity in the coming years. Wind and solar are crucial, but they can’t solve the problem. Nuclear energy offers a dependable solution to complement these renewables and potentially take over the whole market. Restarting old plants is a great sign that leaders are moving in the right direction, but we need innovation to bring nuclear fully into the 21st century. This is where small modular reactors come in. SMRs promise to be safer, more flexible, and quicker to deploy than traditional reactors, making them the key to our energy strategy. The government’s role here is crucial. The NRC and other agencies must work hand-in-hand with companies to ensure that these advanced reactors can come online quickly and safely. As we look forward, it’s clear that nuclear isn’t just part of our past - it’s an essential part of our future. We're excited to back visionary founders in the nuclear space like the team at Aalo Atomics to bring everything I stated above to life. Enough with the red tape...let's open the doors to a clean future! ...and while I love the look of a classic nuclear plant, let's maybe go with some better color schemes this time around... - Aalo Atomics reposted this

Aalo has a new HQ in Austin Texas! Last week we moved into our new 40,000 square foot facility, where we plan to build our pilot reactor factory line. Our “product” isn’t just the Aalo-1 reactor, but is also the factory itself, which we're designing to produce dozens of reactors per year. Stay tuned for more updates on what we’re up to in this new spacecc Aalo Atomics - Aalo Atomics reposted this

We’re honored to be partnering with an incredible group of investors going into this next chapter. The future of nuclear is bright, and Aalo is just getting started. We’re on a mission to make small nuclear reactors in large factories. This will enable predictable low costs and short construction timelines, making clean energy a reality, any place, any time. Here’s what resonated most with our backers: ➡️ Speed: We raised our 27MSeriesA!We’rehonoredtobepartneringwithanincrediblegroupofinvestorsgoingintothisnextchapter.Thefutureofnuclearisbright,andAaloisjustgettingstarted.We’reonamissiontomakesmallnuclearreactorsinlargefactories.Thiswillenablepredictablelowcostsandshortconstructiontimelines,makingcleanenergyareality,anyplace,anytime.Here’swhatresonatedmostwithourbackers:➡R◯Speed:Weraisedour6M Seed just about a year ago, and in the past 9 months we've scaled the team to 15 ppl, finished conceptual design of our reactor, signed a Siting MOU with the DOE, and submitted our REP to the NRC with agreement from a first customer. ➡️ Technology: Compelling economics thanks to high fuel energy density, simplified reactor inherent safety, and a focus on factory manufacturability from day 1. There exists an optimal balance between economy of numbers and economy of scale in nuclear, and we intend to find it. ➡️ Team: Highly experienced and credible team. Many worked on MARVEL program, and delivered first DOE authorization for construction of a new reactor since the DOE was formed in 1977. VP of Regulatory Affairs who helped pioneer the modern RIPB licensing framework used by most advanced nuclear companies today. (And more). ➡️ Master Plan: Unique strategy around go-to-market, regulatory approval, and technical de-risking. More to be announced here soon!
