At Affirm, we’re proud to have a strong Veteran community. In honor of that community and Veterans Day, we want to recognize one of our Veterans@ Affirm ERG members, James Sharpe. James is a Staff Technical Account Manager on the Enterprise Team, helping support the growth of Affirm. In addition, James has been an integral part of the ERG and a driving force behind initiatives to benefit our Veteran-owned business community. Building on our leadership in the US and Canada, we see a significant opportunity to extend our mission of building honest financial products to the UK. Nearly 1/4 of UK buy now, pay later consumers were charged a late fee in 2023. We look forward to offering responsible credit options – free of late fees and hidden charges – as we empower more people with our products. UK consumers can now select Affirm when booking travel with Alternative Airlines. 🛫 Fexco’s international clients with a UK presence can also easily integrate and offer Affirm, and additional UK and international brands are expected to follow. - Consumers aren’t holding back on holiday spending this year, but they are being more deliberate. According to Affirm’s latest consumer survey, nearly 3 in 4 Americans (73%) are embracing a “slow shopping” approach, taking time to weigh options and find the best value from retailers even in a condensed holiday season. USA TODAY’s Betty Lin-Fisher breaks it down further, highlighting how consumers are prioritizing value and intention, with budgeting and affordability top of mind as many seek new ways to make their money go further. Other findings from the survey include: 🟢 Over half of consumers (53%) plan to finish their holiday shopping on or after Black Friday. 🟢 Half of consumers (50%) consider 0% APR financing options to be just as, if not more, valuable than traditional discounts. 🟢 Over half of consumers (53%) are using pay over time options to make the cost of a purchase more affordable, closely followed by the ability to help them budget (52%).
