“Being able to work towards the Hispanic community and service them through music — all while putting our culture in the spotlight — is both a privilege and a huge responsibility.” Javier Paez (better known as Javi) has been the Senior Manager of Industry Partnerships at Amazon Music for more than two years, a role that’s allowed him to help the brand grow, become more recognized and gain cultural capital. “My job has allowed me to help Amazon Music turn towards Hispanics in winning ways and I’m now also helping our sponsor partners achieve the same, through us”. A proud member of the Latins at Amazon affinity group, Javi is currently hooked on The Consultant and Amazon Music’s livestreams on Prime Video and the DEMENTES podcast, which he says is a must “for all the Spanish speakers out there.” Born in Mexico and now based in Miami, the self-professed “foodie by heart” and “coffee aficionado” says his time at Amazon has been the most gratifying chapter in his professional career so far. Working at Amazon, he’s been able to sharpen his skillsets and learn new ones, all while collaborating with highly intelligent peers to drive Amazon Music’s growth in the Latin-Iberia region. “Our region is so vast, it operates across 8 different time zones,” says Javi. “That’s why using the right tools and mechanisms to communicate and inform ourselves, so we’re always on the same page is an absolute must. A research-driven designer, Liz says she’s “focused on opportunities” that elevate underrepresented communities and customers. “Through research, ideation, testing, and final delivery, I work closely with product and engineering partners to launch exciting, innovative, and valuable products for creators and fans.” Liz describes her team as true partners who “prioritize trust, fearless exploration and collaboration” above all else. And while the work they do tends to “focus on the needs of artists and other content creators,” she says it also “directly impacts the listener experience across the whole app.” “This team is exceptionally talented, knows how to get things done, and positively influences the way fans experience music all over the world.” That’s what we like to hear!
