Recently, students from Arkansas State University had the opportunity to tour the McPherson Unit. While at the unit, students learned about the various programs offered to offenders and the everyday operations of a prison. At the end of the tour, an Inmate Panel was held to offer the students more insight.

Caught Ya! Capt. Latosha Davis of the East Arkansas Regional Unit was caught going above and beyond her job duties by challenging an inmate who was in possession of drugs and confiscating the substance. This act potentially preventing a serious incident or even saved a life!

Below are the scores on their audit: Mandatory Standards/Best Practices 100% Non Mandatory Standards/Best Practice 100% One auditor was quoted saying, "To obtain a score like that demonstrates your attention to detail, and your professionalism, and your approach to your mission." The auditors bragged on the medical operations as well as the hospitality of the staff. They noted that the Food Service staff was doing an outstanding job and were very impressed with the cleanliness of the whole facility. Great job Omega!
