About us
From our founding in 1926 as a Methodist home for the aged to present day, Asbury Communities has dedicated itself to being a leader in aging services. Today, Asbury is the nation’s 15th largest not-for-profit senior living organization, as ranked by the LeadingAge Ziegler 200 (LZ 200). With 11 senior living communities, pharmacy and outpatient therapy management services, as well as the Asbury Foundation and ThriveWell Tech, Asbury employs approximately 2,800 associates who proudly serve more than 4,300 older adults in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Even with eleven senior living communities across four states, pharmacy services, as well as adult day centers and HUD affordable senior housing, there’s more to Asbury than vibrant retirement living and quality long-term care services. To understand how much more, consider the words of John Wesley, founder of the Methodist Church, “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” For us, doing all the good we can means exploring exciting new opportunities to help other people of all ages live their best possible lives. It means doing more good in the regions where we operate. It means pushing the boundaries of senior wellness through innovation, technology and strategic relationships. And it means fostering a nurturing, enriching environment for others to work and help those in need.

- Kevin Smith, founder of Kindness Worldwide, is on a mission to create a ripple effect of kindness across the globe. What started in York, Pa., as an idea inspired by a Good Samaritan returning his lost wallet has grown into a nonprofit reaching Greece, Australia, and dozens of U.S. cities. Last week, Kevin, whose mother-in-law is an #AsburyNormandieRidge resident, visited the community to share his inspiring story about the transformative power of kindness. Residents joined him in painting kindness rocks to leave around campus, spreading joy and positivity. As Kevin shared, “Kind communities like Normandie Ridge are healthier and happier.” At Normandie Ridge and all #AsburyCommunities, acts of kindness are a daily practice. Through the Asbury Foundation, residents are supporting their neighbors through benevolent care and funding scholarships for associates. As Kindness Week Worldwide (November 9-16) wraps up, we’re proud to celebrate the countless acts of kindness that make our communities such special places to live and work.#KindnessWorldwide #KindnessWeek #SeniorLiving #AsburyFoundation

- This November, we’re honored to celebrate Native American Heritage Month—a time to recognize the rich cultures, traditions, and incredible contributions of Native American communities that have shaped our nation’s history. The journey to this annual celebration began over a century ago, with Indigenous leaders advocating for greater recognition. In 1990, Native American Heritage Month was officially declared, serving as a powerful reminder of Indigenous resilience, strength, and legacy. Today, we honor their profound influence on our language, our understanding of sustainable practices, and the stewardship of our natural resources. At #AsburyCommunities, we are committed to creating a culture of #belonging. This month, we reflect on ways we can amplify Indigenous voices and perspectives. Let’s work together to foster a community that truly honors and celebrates all cultures.#NativeAmericanHeritageMonth
