The 48th annual Aspen Gay Ski Week wrapped up last week. 🏳️🌈 From Gondola Plaza to the top of Highland Bowl, the event was packed with special lunches, on-snow events, and of course lots of parties to celebrate the love and freedom we all share—all to benefit the amazing work of Roaring Fork Gay and Lesbian Community Fund / AspenOUT. - It's Safety Month - Celebrate the new year with a long and safe season. January is the official National Safety Month for the ski and snowboard industry, and at Aspen Snowmass, safety is our highest priority, because we believe everyone deserves to feel confident and secure on our slopes. Whether you're skiing down groomers, snowboarding in the terrain parks, or using specialized equipment, we ask all guests to see our safety tips below and familiarize themselves with and follow the Responsibility Code, stay aware of their surroundings, and remember our Ski Patrol is always available to help at each mountain. Check out our safety tips at the link below and be safe out there:
Ski & Snowboard Safety & Responsibility | Aspen Snowmass aspensnowmass.com - As we welcome the new year, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our valued guests, dedicated employees, and supportive community members. Your continued trust, hard work, and collaboration have been integral to our success, and we are excited to embark on another year of growth and achievement together. Here's to new opportunities, fresh beginnings, and continued partnerships that help us all thrive in 2025. PC: @risingsunphotog
- On December 30, the Audi Ajax Cup transforms Little Nell Hill into a thrilling dual GS course where sixteen teams battle it out for the coveted Gorsuch Cup. Beyond the racing, this event represents coming together to support our next generation of snow sports athletes. Last year's event helped raise $2.5 million in financial aid for the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club's 3,000+ young athletes. Whether you're competing, spectating, or joining the festivities, we hope you'll join us for one of Aspen's most spirited winter traditions.
- This season, we’re debuting mountaintop art installations to honor each mountain’s unique character, beginning with the mountain we call Ajax. These larger-than-life proclamations of admiration are a nod to each mountain’s personality and our community’s shared love of the ski town magic that makes Aspen Snowmass so special. Long Love Aspen. Long Love Skiing.
- “Maybe the things we love can motivate us to do more...” Dirt bag, parent, climate researcher, and Aspen One SVP of Sustainability Auden Schendler helped kickstart our sustainability department, one of the industry’s first—26 years ago. His new book “Terrible Beauty: Reckoning with Climate Complicity and Rediscovering Our Soul" is part ski bum memoir, and part climate crisis road map. Grab a copy of Terrible Beauty, out November 26 and read an in-depth Q&A with Schendler to learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gJNsUxmJ
- Thanks to nearly two feet of snow falling in November paired with perfect snowmaking conditions, both Aspen Mountain & Snowmass will open for the season ahead of schedule on Saturday, November 23.
- The world may begin to look different after Tuesday’s election results. But our principles remain the same. No matter what the future holds, we will always return to what matters most—our values and our community. And we will continue to stand up for the things we believe in: democracy, climate action, equality, tolerance, justice, integrity, and solidarity in the face of adversity. United we stand, divided we fall—we’re all on this planet together.
- Let’s get out and vote—our climate and our future depend on it.
- At Aspen One, we take the long view. This presidential election is about land conservation, climate action, the future of the places we love to play, and more. A lot is at stake on November 5. "If you are on the fence, we’re asking you to make a healthy environment the issue that tips your decision," writes our CEO Dave Tanner and SVP of Sustainability Auden Schendler.
