Who says black cats are bad luck 🐈⬛ Our #BanfieldGivesBack event for Feral Cat Day with Richmond SPCA spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed 127 cats, including this stray dropped off at one of our hospitals. We're happy to report that we were able to find her a new home and she will stay as part of the extended Banfield family. 🧡 Thanks to our amazing Associates who volunteered their time: Dr. Lindsey Buracker, Dr. Maria Ramirez, Maria Imhof, Julie Dawson, Bart Kite, Erin Struble, Jasmine Jones, Shannon Thompson, Maggie Powell, and Chelsea Donner. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our Women of Banfield Diversity Resource Group is sharing stories from Associates who have been through the journey. Here, two of our leaders talk about their experience. 🩷 Dr. Marissa Rothenbaum was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma just days after her baby was born in 2022. She had found a lump during a self-exam while pregnant. 🩷 Dr. Meaghan Gilhooly was diagnosed with hormone positive, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in May after a routine mammogram found a small abnormality. The common denominator is that education and early detection are essential in the fight against breast cancer. While we specialize in preventive care for pets, we also prioritize preventive care like mammograms for our Associates through our comprehensive healthcare benefits. We're so grateful to Dr. Rothenbaum and Dr. Gilhooly for sharing the importance of early detection with us all. Keep shining and thriving #WomenOfBanfield #BreastCancerAwareness #BreastCancerMonth

Without many charitable organizations in Nebraska, Tori Graunke turned to Banfield Foundation's HOPE Funds program to offer her clients financial assistance to care for pets who were critically ill or injured. "The first time I used HOPE Funds was around eight years ago. I remember being heartbroken it seemed like we wouldn’t be able to help a pet because of the expense, and I just kept saying we’ve got to be able to do something. My practice manager at the time reminded me of Banfield Foundation… We were able to help that pet, and I just got this overwhelming feeling – We can do this because we work for Banfield!
