Historically we've stored CO2 in depleted oil and gas fields, and saline formations. These are sedimentary basins and incredibly safe, but can often take hundreds to thousands of years to change the fluid CO2 back into a solid. That process is called mineralization.44.01 just mineralized CO2 in 100 days! They injected CO2 dissolved in water into peridotites, which are super reactive. This is a massive win and the injection rates will increase from 10 tons a year up to 300. Great work, great rocks and a great team.
