- Congratulations to Water Environment Federation Residuals and Biosolids Community GHG Focus Group Vice Chair Shannon Cavanaugh! The WEF Greenhouse Gas Focus Group of the Residuals and Biosolids Community acts as a clearing house for information on carbon emission accounting and identifies industry research needs. See how they’re helping to advance the industry: https://ow.ly/EZru50TOA6KShannon has been focused on nitrous oxide emissions from wastewater treatment since her graduate program. She recently presented at WEFTEC’s Navigating the Water Sector’s Path to Net Zero on greenhouse gas emission sources across water resource recovery facilities. See how we’re working toward a more resilient future: https://ow.ly/8UnO50TOA6J

Happy #VeteransDay! Today and every day, we honor the commitment and sacrifice of veterans, their families and friends. Watch the video to see what inspired these brave BCers to serve their country and how they are carrying that commitment forward to help our communities and environment thrive. We are proud supporters of the Hire Our Heroes program. Special thanks to: Karina Banks, Enoch Dixon, PE, PMP, Roger Heinrich, Kenneth Hoff, CSP, CHST, Victor Hurlburt, Nakita Lancaster, Joe Martinez, James Mazzei, Matthew Miles, Bob O'Neill, Dan Porter, and Jesten Robertson. - Take a peek at this first of its kind, award-winning recycled water facility for non-potable reuse in the City of Escondido, an important milestone for realizing the city’s vision for a high-quality alternative to potable water for local agriculture. https://ow.ly/35Mn50TU5jvThe City, along with partners the Filanc Brown and Caldwell Joint Venture, successfully delivered AgX MFRO, a $64M, 2-million-gallon-per-day facility membrane filtration and reverse osmosis water reuse treatment plant via progressive design-build. This innovative project redirects water from an ocean outfall that was nearing capacity to the facility for beneficial reuse treatment, saving the City millions. The new facility also produces water with levels of salinity ideal for agriculture, mainly avocado growers. Recently, WateReuse California honored the City’s leadership with the Large Recycled Water Agency of the Year award for its outstanding efforts in developing recycled water as a significant alternative water source. Congrats to the entire team! #RecycledWater #WaterReuse #Agriculture #AgTech #SustainableFarming

- Meet Jacob Kunugi, a BC water resources engineer and fourth-generation potato farmer with deep roots in Colorado. Growing up on a farm, Jake saw firsthand the vital role water plays in agriculture, his family, and a healthy environment. This inspiration unlocked a passion to help his community thrive through environmental engineering. By focusing on hydrology, water rights, and resource management, Jake is driving lasting positive change for farmers, families, and municipalities alike. “I am a perpetual student, and I think it's an important mindset that we keep as consulting engineers. If we begin to act like we know all the answers, we don't offer the most robust solutions that are out there.” ▶️ Watch the video to learn more about what inspires Jake to do his best work and #JoinTeamBC: https://ow.ly/x1zh50TOWXt #BCisthePlacetoBe #engineering #hiring #water #agriculture
