During Dr. Mildred García's first week as chancellor of The California State University, she hosted a meet and greet to connect with employees at the California State University, Office of the Chancellor. She expressed her gratitude and admiration for all who serve #CalState's 460,000 students. "The CSU changes lives. It transforms entire families, strengthens our society and drives our state's economic vitality. And you all have a part in that. You are resilient, you have integrity, you are creative. And above all, you have never lost sight of the belief in our mission. A vital mission. In other words, one of the reasons I came is because of people like you who I know are working every single day to lift the CSU and ensure that everybody that walks in has a wonderful experience," –CSU Chancellor García.

Today, CSU Chancellor Mildred García, joined President Biden and nearly two dozen #HSI champions at the White House for the ceremonial signing of a new executive order that will advance equity in economic and educational opportunities, strengthen the capacity of Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) to provide a high-quality education, and increase opportunities for HSIs to participate in and benefit from federal programs. With the majority of #CalState universities designated as HSIs, the CSU is immensely proud to be a part of this landmark occasion and to continue serving as a leader in Latinx student success.
