Our School hosted this year’s DC Health Link 2024 Open Enrollment kick-off event! The DC Health Link’s Open Enrollment Community Day & Health Fair took place at our Sonia Gutierrez campus. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton attended this official start of Open Enrollment for health insurance coverage in the District of Columbia. Our students and DC residents enrolled in health insurance, received health screenings, enjoyed delicious food prepared by the Carlos Rosario School Food Services team, and were treated to a mariachi band performance and more! The DC Health Link’s Open Enrollment Health Fair is an opportunity for District residents, small business owners and their employees to enjoy the official launch of the DC Health Link FY 2025 Open Enrollment season, which begins November 1, and runs through January 31, 2025.

We were honored to welcome Her Excellency Ángeles Moreno Bau, Ambassador of Spain to the United States, to Carlos Rosario School today. She spent part of her morning at our Harvard Street Campus, where she met with school leaders and visited several classes. Decompression time! Carlos Rosario School staff and faculty took a walk for approximately 15 minutes around our both Harvard Street and Sonia Gutierrez campuses to recharge mentally, emotionally and physically.
We’re thrilled to announce that the Carlos Rosario School has been selected to host this year’s DC Health Link 2024 Open Enrollment kick-off event! Join us for the DC Health Link’s Open Enrollment Community Day & Health Fair on Wednesday, November 13, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at our Sonia Gutierrez Campus. Onsite enrollment in health plans to meet every need and budget will take place along with FREE health screenings, local entertainment, healthy cooking demos and health-wellness demonstrations, fitness exercise, branded giveaways and more! Refreshments will be provided by the Food Service team at Carlos Rosario School. Open Enrollment Community Day Kick-off and Health Fair is an opportunity for District residents, small business owners and their employees to enjoy the official launch of the DC Health Link FY 2025 Open Enrollment season, which begins November 1, and runs through January 31, 2025.
In recognition of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), staff and students from both campuses created beautiful ofrenda displays, honoring loved ones in the Carlos Rosario School community who have passed away. The Day of the Dead is one of the most significant celebrations for many Latin American countries. During this celebration, death is commemorated as another element of life and to remember and honor our loved ones. Día de Muertos is a pre-Columbian holiday that is celebrated in Mexico and across Latin America on November 1st and 2nd.

Today, Thursday, October 24, is Mr. Carlos Manuel Rosario’s birthday and Carlos Rosario School Founders’ Day! Carlos Rosario founded our school in 1972 as the Program of English Instruction for Latin Americans. From there, it evolved into the institution we know today, named after him. Today, we recognize Carlos Manuel Rosario and Sonia Gutiérrez for their efforts to better the lives of adult immigrants through education and to take pride in their achievements. Our School’s founders embodied the imagination and courage of our city’s immigrant community.#CRStrong #DCCharterProud
Our talended Culinary Arts students at the Sonia Gutierrez Campus hosted another Community Culinary Event that wowed our guests with a live luncheon. Today French Cuisine was à l'honneur. From Violet French Soixante-Quinze to Steak au Poivre with Sauteed Spinach and Pomme Frites, the menu was an absolute delight for our guests.
