Solitaire’s Tonya Hogstad Retires After 33 Amazing Years. December 20th is Tonya Hogstad’s last day as Account Sales Manager at Solitaire Homes in Duncan, Oklahoma. She will be greatly missed! After a 33-year career in the manufactured home industry, Tonya reflected on what mattered most to her throughout her career in a recent one-on-one interview. "It's the people, relationships and friendships I've made along the way. The people at Solitaire Homes are my family." Through the years, her dedication, attention to detail and her "all-in" spirit have defined Tonya, who has been so integral to Solitaire’s success. In fact, pinning down exactly which ONE Cavco principle best describes Tonya throughout her career is a little difficult, since she exemplified so many, like “Doing the right thing every time,” “We don’t cut corners,” and “Standing for integrity and ethics in everything we do.” “My career at Solitaire has been quite a ride," she said. "I’ve done just about everything from shipping to bookkeeping, and everything in between,” she said with a laugh. When asked to step into a sales role — a challenge she never anticipated — Tonya once again rose to the occasion. “Sales was something I never saw myself doing,” she admitted. “But I jumped in and really enjoyed it.” Over the years, as the company grew, so did Tonya’s knowledge about Solitaire and the business. She became the go-to person for questions on just about every aspect of how the company operated. Her contributions helped provide a foundation for the company to grow from one to four plants and 23 sales lots, all while building a strong reputation in the industry and in the community. When asked what advice she would give to someone at Cavco, she said: “It’s all about showing each other loyalty and respect. What you put out is what you get back.” Congratulations, Tonya, on your amazing career! Your dedication, expertise and friendship have left an enduring mark on Solitaire Homes and Cavco. Enjoy this well-earned next chapter — you will be greatly missed!
Fleetwood's Blue Ridge Duplex Shines at Virginia Governor's Housing Conference On Nov. 13–15, the 2024 Virginia Governor's Housing Conference (VAGHC) took place in Virginia Beach. This year’s event featured a 12,000-square-foot Innovation Village showcasing advanced construction technologies designed to expand affordable housing options across Virginia. The innovations on display included iUnit modular cottages, the Tvasta 3D concrete printer—capable of building construction elements and full-scale structures layer by layer—and the highlight of the event: Cavco’s Blue Ridge single-section duplex home, built by Fleetwood Homes in Rocky Mount, Virginia. During the conference, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin announced Executive Order 42, aimed at boosting economic development and accelerating the construction of affordable housing to address the state’s housing crisis. Innovative homes like the Blue Ridge, part of the first nationally available HUD-approved duplex homes in the Anthem series, are a key solution to Virginia’s housing shortage of 550,000 units and the broader national housing deficit. “I had numerous conversations with District and County Development employees who have funding for housing projects, many of which require affordable housing,” Cole Fueller said. “The Blue Ridge generated significant interest from county officials, showing promise as a solution for these needs. I’m excited to see the Anthem Duplex Series help address the housing deficit we face. This is an exciting time for Cavco, Fleetwood Homes Rocky Mount and the entire industry.” As affordable housing continues to be a pressing challenge, the Fleetwood Homes team deserves applause for their commitment to innovation and excellence. By designing modern, efficient and affordable housing options like the Blue Ridge, they are helping reshape the future of affordable housing. Cavco Industries, Inc. had the opportunity to join the "Who's Who" of the community developer industry last week for the 2024 MHI National Communities Council Fall Leadership Forum that took place at the Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago. This program focused on manufactured home community leaders, such as owners, managers, manufacturers, service providers, brokers, lenders and consultants. Attendees explored new ideas, build business connections and get inspiration for real-world strategies to put in place now to strengthen their businesses. Cavco was well-represented by Ross Mueller, National Business Director for Cavco. Ross was part of a panel discussing 'Expanding Options for Communities Through Innovative New Home Types'. The panel discussed how new manufactured home designs can offer more flexibility within communities and expand revenue opportunities. In addition, they provided insight into overcoming stereotypes and winning over zoning and land-planning officials. Ross, along with other representatives of the industry’s largest manufacturers, shared how duplexes, CrossMods, accessory dwelling units and build-to-rent homes are elevating communities around the country.#manufacturedhousing #affordablehousing #communities #building
