🚨Licensee Pro Tips!🚨 ⚠️ Common Mistake: Not completing 20 hours of CE in the first year of your licensure period (the “20/12 requirement”). 🔎 What’s required? • 80 hours of CE is required for each licensure period, with at least 20 hours of CE taken in each year of the two-year period. • At least 12 of each year’s 20 hours must be in technical subject areas. ✅ Tips to Stay on Track: • Plan CE courses throughout your licensure period. • Set calendar reminders to monitor progress. • Use the CBA Connect CE Data File Template to organize your hours. • If you don’t reach 20 hours in the first year, there’s unfortunately nothing you can do to make up for it, so plan ahead!

The CBA was excited to join CalCPA and the American Accounting Association at their latest Two-Year Bridge Symposium today. We spoke to Community College students from the LA and San Jose areas interested in accounting and broke down the application process and requirements to sit for the CPA Exam and earn a CPA license.
