Iβm happy to announce that Iβll be speaking at the official COP29 side event, βAnalysing the International Architecture for Climate Action in Food Systems.β With rising emissions and little time to spare, the event will ask our most pressing question: How can the UNFCCC UN support ambitious action in food systems and agriculture? Thankful to be part of this important initiative hosted by Clim-Eat, Wageningen University & Research, SACAU, AgriCord, Government of the Netherlands, and Ministerio da Agricultura. - Yesterday, we shared our πππππ πππ«π π¨π§ ππ¨π₯π₯ππππ¨π« - a website where all COP29 goers can collect some of the more creative phrasing thrown around at this year's event. Here are the latest submissions you entered. Recognize these phrases during today's events or hear new ones? Add them to the collector! Something fun might come out of it π Check out the entire collection here π https://lnkd.in/eqfEEpCS
- Next week, Clim-Eat will organize and participate in five main events. From analysing the international architecture of our food systems to a methane deep dive, we have broad coverage with something for everyone. For more information about the events and to add them to your calendar, visit our COP29 page π https://lnkd.in/efFymnZNStay tuned for more updates starting next week, and see you there π
- While Clim-Eat and the world is at COP29 Azerbaijan, Bruce M. Campbell is making waves in Brazilian media. At this yearβs World Dairy Congress in Paris, Bruce delivered a sobering message to the audience: the food system is broken, and agriculture may be the greatest threat to humankind transgressing our planetary boundaries. Having addressed the elephant in the room, Campbell spent the rest of his time urging the audience to prioritize measurable action, sadly often outweighed by mere talk. Campbellβs important message was captured in the Brazilian outlet EXAME, highlighting the disconnect between how we talk about versus how we act on climate change in the food system.
