La-Z-Boy Incorporated is taking an unexpected stance on a rather polarizing topic: reclining on airplanes. According to a survey recently conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of the brand all about comfort, 41% of American adults would support a ban on passengers reclining their seats on domestic flights. Why not boost friendlier in-sky seat etiquette? Head over to BanReclining.com to sign the pledge and be entered for a chance to win a free La-Z-Boy recliner and a $500 airfare credit. Change can be an energy vampire or energy giving. We’ve all seen change that’s sucked the spirit and momentum of brands we once adored. There’s change for changes sake. Then, there’s the kind of change Jessica Henrichs stewards. Change that recognizes how we create is just as important as what we create. As President, she's rewired team structures and capabilities and helped us find gears within ourselves that we didn’t know we had before. She’s a true champion for the value of creativity in being paid its worth. So, we’re not surprised to see her join the 2024 ADWEEK 50 class with other luminaries representing Disney, Microsoft, Pepsi, American Express, Mattel, NBC University, AMC Networks, Instacart and adland peers we admire. Click below to read about all the honorees on ADWEEK: https://lnkd.in/ehMnTKJD - We've got a cautionary tale for brands clowning on consumers in Ad Age today, penned by our very own Head of Brand Comms + Marketing, Katie Walley-Wiegert. Click below to see what she has to say about what marketers must consider before tricking consumers. Also, her deep affinity for Capri Sun.https://lnkd.in/ePHqtMjy

Starting the week off with a little executive wisdom.Ad Age gathered a few factoids you might not know about our very own Christine Fruechte. Click below to read. No spoilers from us. Here are two additional Fruechte-isms that are words to live by: "Don't tell a CEO what they want to hear," shares Christine about the importance of seeking out diverse perspectives. "Some of the most profound moments of my career have come from people sharing unexpected points of view." In fact, Christine's favorite word is "today," as she explains you can't go back, and we are never guaranteed a tomorrow. "So don't waste energy looking back on decisions you've made. Remember what you've learned in the moment and keep moving forward." Here's to making the most of today!
Agency news you need to know this week adage.com - Big moment for us. Here's to the next era of reinvention! “Christine Fruechte is proof that people-first and profitable are possible. This culture she’s built of camaraderie, trust and joyful restlessness for reinvention—it’s not a foundation, it’s a springboard. My job is to honor what’s been established and catalyze the momentum we have,” says Jessica Henrichs about being named our next CEO, effective January of 2025! - For 38 years, the LIA - London International Awards has been a lighthouse for multidisciplinary creative excellence. The first truly international program of adland. One so committed to not only showing off what creativity can do for businesses, but improving upon the craft we call "work," that it would do away with a traditional awards program to rather invest in a worldwide educational initiative for emerging talent. So you could say we're beyond glowing to have Perdue recognized in two categories for how it got people eating up chicken feed. Yes, chicken feed! Frank's RedHot x Jason Kelce scooping Best Partnership honors at the annual Digiday Creative awards wasn't too shabby either.
- Moving from passive allyship to active accompliceship is something we can all take ownership to: -Directly challenge institutionalized and problematic structures -Be active listeners—respecting and realizing that the marginalized are not monoliths in their tactics and beliefs -Build trust through consent and accountability We started the day with an interactive workshop hosted by The BrandLab’s Fearless Facilitator and Coach, Dawn Johnson. It was really special getting to take those learnings and extend the call for doing better in the late evening hours at The BrandLab’s Ignite Gala, a celebration commemorating 15 years of mission to change the face and voice of the marketing industry. Colle McVoy and our CEO, Christine Fruechte, have been in the thick of the work since The BrandLab’s founding —volunteering in classrooms, conferences, fundraising and agency tours. Christine was a founding board member and one of the organization’s greatest champions. Since 2009, the agency has hired 30 BrandLab interns—many of whom converted into full-time Account Management, Creative, PR and Human Resource roles. - “Tailgating culture is legion. Without fans, games are just games. The body paint, the infectious chants and master grilling as far as the eye can see,” says Colle McVoy VP Group Creative Director, Juan Davila Morris. “These die-hard fans put food front and center, often starting at the crack of dawn, because it's always better to have too much than not enough on game day.” “Creatively, we're having Frank's RedHot go as hard for tailgaters as they do for their teams. We want to show how Frank's sees fans and is hyper-aware of their efforts and unrivaled passion—taking part in the rituals and ruckus of it all,” adds Juan. If you're ready for the weekend, go ahead and read more about our latest from MediaPost.
