Let the CEA research BEGIN! A huge thank you to my major advisor, Dr. Mike Evans, at Virginia Tech School of Plant and Environmental Sciences, for working with Paul Brentlinger at CropKing Inc to order me 12 additional NFT hydroponic tables to kickstart my PhD research! My focus will be on improving fruit flavor profiles and yield through nutritional strategies for micro-dwarf tomato production. This research aims to provide growers with a high-yielding alternative crop to add to their production compared to traditional leafy greens in hydroponic production. The journey has begun, and we can't wait to share the results. Stay tuned for updates as we explore innovative solutions for controlled enviroment agriculture here at the CEA Innovation Lab! 🌱 🍅 - I had the opportunity to visit with one of our growers this week, Matt Yoder at Chef's Harvest in Millersburg and while it might have been overcast and dreary outside, inside his greenhouse everything was popping with color and full of life! I do love this industry and the great people that make it up! Thanks for letting us come poke around and take up some of your valuable time Matt #CEA #greenhousegrown #hydroponics #nofarmersnofood
- We loved working with the Rittman students, teaching them about sustainable food production and letting them get their hands dirty in our greenhouse and Education Research Lab! #hydroponics #classroomag #schoolgardens #fieldtrip #greenhouse

Our Rittman High School STEAM students held class at CropKing Inc this morning learning the impact factors of Controlled Environment Agriculture Hydroponics. Hydroponics IS the future of food production! School hydroponics provides our students with valuable STEAM skills that will drive our food system and its future sustainability! We also enjoyed some edible flowers. Kids said they tasted like…flowers!😁✅Jason Jurey Paul Brentlinger Anne Rogerson Steve Tyink -
