- The DaVita Health Tour is back this fall! Beginning September 24th, our mobile health clinic is hitting the road for a third year to deliver preventive care to communities across the nation. We’re providing free health screenings and chronic care education at neighborhood events to equip community members to take control of their health and detect and manage conditions that can lead to chronic diseases, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD) before they progress. With 1 in 7 adults in the U.S. living with CKD, and most unaware of it, it's critical to improve access to health screenings and strengthen kidney health awareness and education. Happy New Year, LinkedIn Family! One of my proudest professional highlights from 2024 (pictured) was speaking at DaVita Kidney Care ‘s National Leadership Meeting to an audience of 1,000 colleagues. I had the opportunity to share insights on growth—specifically, how we can partner effectively to bring the best of DaVita to patients in need. What I didn’t realize at the time was that this moment would foreshadow an exciting career pivot that is coming to life today. For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Market CEO for DaVita in D.C., leading a team of ~300 teammates dedicated to providing care for ~1,000 patients living with end-stage kidney disease. This role has been one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences of my career. It’s been equally challenging and fulfilling, pushing me to grow as a leader in countless ways. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the power of collaboration in healthcare. The phrase “it takes a village” couldn’t be more true when caring for some of healthcare’s most vulnerable patients—those with complex co-morbidities, frequent transitions between care settings, and the need for long-term chronic treatment. I am deeply grateful to the patients, providers, partners, and colleagues who made this experience so meaningful. Together, we worked to transform healthcare for D.C.’s most vulnerable populations. A special shoutout to my team of Healthcare Operations Managers, affectionately known as “The Gamechangers.” Your resilience through turbulent times and unwavering commitment to our core values—Service Excellence, Integrity, Team, Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Fulfillment, and Fun—has been nothing short of inspiring. Today, I’m thrilled to share that I’m embarking on a new chapter: leading Business Development for DaVita’s Hospital Services Group in the Northeast. In this role, I’ll take the lessons of collaboration forward as I work with hospitals and health systems to bring DaVita’s highest-quality care and value-added services to inpatient programs across the region. For my healthcare colleagues: If you or anyone you know is interested in learning about how DaVita enhances outcomes for people living with kidney disease, reduces total cost of care, and improves ED/ICU efficiency, feel free to reach out or connect me. I’m excited for this next chapter as we continue on our journey of an “unwavering pursuit of a healthier tomorrow”! - From everyone at DaVita, wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season.
- This year, the DaVita Health Tour traveled across the country, offering free, comprehensive health screenings and chronic disease education to community members. We will continue to advocate and champion access to preventive care to help communities manage and protect their well-being. Through these efforts, we aim to empower people, like Jada, to take proactive steps in their personal healthcare journeys: "It's important to have [screenings] because people don't always have access or make time to go to the doctor. At least this gives you something to take back to your primary care. I did all three tests. If I'm aware of it, I can address it. I'm glad DaVita is here doing this for us." — Jada, DaVita Health Tour attendee in Humble, TX
- This holiday season, DaVita is proud to support National Kidney Foundation's PEERS program to help connect patients, care partners and living donors to mentors who offer valuable support through shared experiences. We believe in the power that connection can hold for people navigating chronic disease, and the PEERS program is making a difference in the lives of kidney patients and their support networks.
