Diadrasis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation, research, promotion and development of unrevealed Cultural Heritage. Diadrasis comes from the Greek word διάδρασις that means interaction and that is what we are and how we work. The different working backgrounds of the core team, Conservator of Antiquities, Architect and Art Historian, Archaeologist and Heritage Manager create a fertile ground for interaction and different projects of learning by doing. 🎉 Skiathos Heritage Trails are now complete! 🎉 The new "Skiathos Heritage Trails" project enhances the existing hiking network "Skiathos Trails" with five thematic cultural routes. These routes are created from the oral histories of the island's inhabitants, offering visitors an immersive experience as they explore Skiathos’ natural and cultural landscapes. Signboards featuring QR codes have been placed at key cultural landmarks across Skiathos. Visitors can scan these codes to listen to residents' fascinating stories and memories. The thematic routes are: 1. Sacred Sites and Memories 2. Mother Earth 3. Modern Times 4. Salty Water 5. "It's My Land, It's My Home" Additionally, signboards include information regarding accessibility for persons with disabilities. Celebrating #InternationalMuseumDay with focus on #Museum4Education, Diadrasis will launch a brand new digital exploration game entitled “Ophelte’s Untold Stories” at the Archaeological Museum of Nemea. The "premiere" of the educational game, was selected to coincide with International Museum Day 2024 International Council of Museums (ICOM), highlighting so the vital role of museums as dynamic educational hubs, fostering interactive learning and discovery. From May 19 and for two years, "Opheltes' untold stories" game will be available to all visitors in English and in Greek, free of charge. The Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth (Εφορεια Αρχαιοτήτων Κορινθίας) and Diadrasis are inviting you to follow "Opheltes" and walk along the halls of the Museum, the Archaeological Site, and the Ancient Stadium of Nemea, while solving riddles and undertaking fun activities they can uncover the secrets of the Nemean Games. “Ophelte’s Untold Stories” digital game was designed in 2024 by Diadrasis NGO under the supervision of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth within the framework of the European Heritage Days Ευρωπαϊκές Ημέρες Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς ΕΗΠΚ joint action by the Council of Europe and the European Union. https://lnkd.in/dfq5MwBq #IMD2024
Last week our #Heritangels, the defenders of Monuments from #Climatechange participated at the Athens Science Festival. Bringing the experience from Kea and Nemea, the Defenders of Monuments expanded their storytelling also to #industrialheritage, as the workshop took place in the old Athens Gasworks #Technopolis, an Athenian industrial landmark. The 10th year celebration of this unique festival has been an exquisite and fun experience! Our team, not only had the opportunity to engage more pupils in actively caring for our #monuments, but also became kids themselves again, exploring other #sciences via the interactive exhibits & workshops. HeritAngels* in Action! 57 children from the 5th and 6th grades came back to the archaeological site of Nemea to "care for monuments as a way of life". Under the guidance of the conservators of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth, our young Monuments defenders actively participated in the cleaning and preparation of the Ancient Stadium of Nemea. This voluntary action had a dual purpose: 1) the removal of flammable materials as a measure of prevention 2) the preparation of the stadium to welcome the Olympic flame *“HeritAngels” is a project that aims to raise awareness and activate the students of Nemea in protecting monuments from the effects of Climate Change. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of the Museum and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth for their invaluable support and precious assistance in the successful implementation of the project. *The educational program "HeritAngels" is carried out within the framework of the European Heritage Days (EHD) / Journées européennes du patrimoine (JEP) and is funded by the Council of Europe and the European Commission.
