On January 19, the Board of Directors gave a resounding approval to honor members of the West Point Association of Graduates with the esteemed 2024 Distinguished Graduate Award. Among the deserving recipients are Maj. Pat W. Locke '80 & LTG Thomas P. Bostick β78. Mark your calendars for the grand awards ceremony at West Point on May 21, 2024. ππ #DistinguishedGraduates #CelebratingExcellence #classof2024Maj. (R) Pat W. Locke - Pat's journey to West Point began after high school in Detroit, Michigan. Enlisting in the U.S. Army, she attended the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) and graduated as part of the first class of women at West Point in 1980. Notably, she's the first African-American woman to graduate from the institution based on Order of Merit. Serving as an Air Defense Officer, she commanded, worked in the Armyβs Human Resource Command, and served at the Pentagon before retiring in 1995. Post-military, she founded the Seeds of Humanity Foundation for STEM education, ethics, and leadership, and established Life Plan Services, LLC, focusing on core life skills development. Inducted into the Defense Advisory Committee On Women In The Service (DACOWITS) in 2017, she advises the Secretary of Defense on women-related issues. Lieutenant General (R) Thomas P. Bostick - former COO and President at Intrexon Corporation, is a distinguished leader with a rich background. Serving as the 53rd Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, he played a key role in national responses, notably during Superstorm Sandy. Gen. Bostick held significant positions, including Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command. His diverse roles also span academia, a White House Fellowship, and a Forbes Contributor. Currently serving on multiple corporate boards, he is a 1978 U.S. Military Academy graduate with advanced degrees from Stanford and George Washington University. - Do More Together reposted this
