It's not a day — It's a movement.
About us
EARTHDAY.ORG’s mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide. Growing out of the first Earth Day, EARTHDAY.ORG is the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 150,000 partners in nearly 195 countries to build environmental democracy. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world. We work through a combination of education, public policy, and consumer campaigns. The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Twenty years later, Earth Day went global, mobilizing 200 million people in 141 countries and lifting environmental issues onto the world stage.

3d Edited - This is deplorable: COP29’s CEO has been exposed for using climate summits to broker oil deals. ⬇️ This investigation reveals a disturbing reality—our crucial climate talks are at risk of becoming platforms for fossil fuel interests. We can’t let this continue. It is time to kick big polluters OUT! Elnur Soltanov #Cop29 #Baku #FossilFuel #fossilfuels #RenewableEnergyNow #OurPowerOurPlanet

This is insane! COP29 CEO got exposed by using climate summits to discuss oil deals…. ⬇️ He thinks he’s talking to an oil and gas investor, but he’s actually talking to an undercover Global Witness investigator. This investigation was proof if ever we needed more that even global climate talks can become a trade show for oil and gas deals. This is unacceptable This year was the hottest on record, and we’ve seen death and carnage around the world from extreme weather events like storms, floods and wildfires. And oil, gas and coal accounts for nearly 90% of global CO2 emissions. Credit: Alice Harrison -
